Design on Q is an award winning boutique publication design and illustration business founded and directed by Katherine (Kat) Quin Merewether. Kat started out in 2002 as a self-employed graphic designer and illustrator. The first of her large projects, beginning in 2002, included illustrating material for the Te Wananga o Aotearoa, Te Ara Reo, Mahi Ora and Mauri Ora programmes. Today she employs a team of talented illustrators and designers specialising in digital illustration, marketing, branding project management and development.

Children's book illustration is the icing on the cake for Kat. This year her 20th published, fully illustrated book is due to be launched. Titles include One Day a Taniwha, Pito Mata, Waiata Mai, Hinemoa raua ko and Tutankai and Fearless Fred and the Dragon (plus many more). The Boy Who Could See Only Purple was published in Phoenix Arizona, and was endorsed by the Milton H. Ericson Foundation. Kat is also the author and illustration for the Little + Sleepy series, Sleepy Kiwi and Sleepy Koala.

Kat is also the author, illustrator and publisher behind the #1 bestselling series, Kuwi the Kiwi.  20c from each book donated to Kiwis for Kiwi, and over $5500 has been raised in the past year, to help with kiwi conservation projects throughout New Zealand. Find out more at www.illustrated.co.nz
